Really Tired of Lame Winters!

Last winter we got less than 2 inches of snow here, it was 65 degrees over several days in January. This winter seems to be almost a mirror image of last winter, with pathetic snowfall amounts and oh look, a few days in the upper 50s to low 60s. Wait, I take that back, it was 68 degrees today.

So I am about to reach my limit for these bullshit lame winters. I think it’s time for me to gather my belongings and move north. Stockholm, Sweden comes to mind. Maybe Helena, Montana or someplace in Wisconsin.

Yeah that’s how sick and tired I am of feeble failure bullshit winters that don’t drop significant snowfall amounts. Fuck you mother nature!

Lots n lots n lots of stuff been goin’ down

I have been busier than a desert cobra at a mongoose convention! So let’s begin at the beginning…

In September my mother had a massive stroke and as a result I have had to place her in a senior living facility. It’s a great place actually, doesn’t look like you might imagine. It’s not sterile and painted a drab off-white. It’s got Martha Stewart style all over it. Looks more like a luxury hotel more than anything else. She is doing well, she is making good progress in her rehab. She has weakness on her right side which makes it very difficult to walk, plus the stroke affected her balance, so she is a high fall risk — thus the reason I chose a senior living arrangement.

My design studio, Pixelworx Idea Factory, is buzzing with activity. I landed a new corporate client that I am doing UI design for. I am really enjoying it and the work load they are piling on me. For once I am able to sympathize with my friends who are graphic artists who are always telling me how slammed they are. It’s good work. I think I may have found my niche, UI design!

Meanwhile I have been spending time a really awesome lady named Maureen. She is fun to be around, she enjoys being creative from the standpoint of writing stories. She wants to compose a novel someday so she is taking a Creative Writing class. I enjoy hearing what she writes. Despite what she may think, she is really gifted and I see the potential for another great American author in her.

I am cutting back on my online gaming as well. In early January I decided to leave the gaming community I have been with for ten years (SuperTroopers). I am now focusing on using my time for creative projects, such as composing music! I am hoping to have a new composition soon. And perhaps in a month or two I will start working on another book.

So that’s where I am right now. Hopefully this year will be better than last year…
